In 1966, the prime minister Obote fell on the traditional monarchies of Uganda. The Ganda, Nyoro and Ankole lost their Kabaka. Omukama and Omugabe, the palaces were seized and burnt the retainers including the musician killed or dispersed the royal instrument. Some of them over 400 years old destroyed.
